Juniper green coral rose cup cakes

I have been testing with food colourings lately and I found some really fascinating colours that make the cupcakes look so real that you really can’t tell the difference. For example in this rose cup cake, the colour for the green leaf is called “juniper Green “. It is a perfect colour for leaves, “its beautiful as much as it looks real” according to one person who used it recently. Classic red velvet cupcakes bouquet

Classic Red Velvet Cupcakes Bouquet

Red velvet cupcakes ingredients

1/2 cup (125 g) butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups (500 g) flour
1 tbsp (15 g) cocoa
1 cup (250 ml) skim milk
2 oz (65 g) red food coloring
1 tsp (5 g) baking soda
1 tbsp (15 ml) white vinegar

Red velvet buttercream ingredients:
1 cup (250 ml) milk
1/4 cup (65 g) flour
1/2 cup (125 g) fat, Crisco brand
1 cup (250 g) sugar
2 tsp (10 g) vanilla

2 tbsp red food coloring

 

Preheat oven to 350F.

1.     Melt butter and sugar until creamy, add eggs and cocoa.
2.     Add flour, milk and red food colouring, mix well.
3.     Dissolve the baking soda in vinegar and pour into the mixture.
Pour mixture into cupcake wrappers.
Bake at 350 F. for 20 to 25 min.

Red velvet buttercream:

 

1. Mix flour and milk and cook in a frying pan to a consistent batter. Cool.
2. Mix the batter together with butter, sugar, vanilla and red food colouring.
3. Pipe the red velvet buttercream onto the cupcakes when it is cooled.

 

Arrange the red velvet cupcakes in a flower pot and decorate the cupcakes with green edible chocolate leaves (optional) to make the red velvet cupcakes bouquet. You don’t want to eat these awesome cupcakes for sure. Even better, your guest might not even know these are not red roses, but rather these are awesome and beautiful classic red velvet cupcakes. What a surprise.

Sweet lavender and honey cupcakes

Sweet lavender and honey cupcakes, the best cupcakes and my favorite dessert. If you want a healthier version of cupcakes, you can make these lavender cupcakes healthier by using pastured eggs, grass-fed butter, and honey. Pastured eggs, and grass-fed butter are so much better for you than using factory caged eggs and vegetable oil.

If you want to try something different on your next birthday or even better, have them on your wedding party, these sweet lavender and honey cupcakes are sure to make a great impression. The soft lavender-coloured buttercream plus fresh lavender buds on top of the cupcakes make these lavender cupcakes a great addition to any celebration or weddings.

Sweet lavender and honey cupcakes

Difficulty: Easy
Makes 12 cupcakes

Ingredients

Cupcakes:

• Butter 120g
• Sugar 160g
• Honey 2 tsp
• Eggs 2 (use free range eggs if you prefer, they are much healthier)
• Self raising flour 200g
• Baking powder 1tspn
• Milk 2 tbsp
• Lavender buds 50g

Lavender buttercream:

Butter 120g butter

Icing sugar 200g

Vanilla extract 1 tsp

Milk 2 tbsp

Grape lavender food colouring (or any lavender purple colouring to match the colour you want to achieve)

Preheat oven 350°F.

1. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Add the eggs, honey. Mix well.
3. Sift flour and add in half the flour into the egg and honey mixture.
4. Add milk, then pour in the other half of the flour.
5. Gently add in the lavender buds and mix.
6. Pour mixture into the cupcake cases.

Bake for 18-20 minutes. Get the lavender cupcakes out of the oven and place on wire racks and cool.

Lavender buttercream:

Melt butter, gradually add the sugar until smooth and creamy. Add vanilla extract, milk and lavender food colouring. Mix well till the desired colour is achieved.

Pipe the lavender buttercream onto the cupcakes using a piping bag. Complete the cupcakes with the lavender buds on top (optional).
